Benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) is a highly prevalent disease in older men with substantial adverse effects on quality of life. Contemporary approach in the management of BPH is mostly based on the degree of symptoms. However, it is inevitably more significant to know the degree of bother that particular patient experiences due to presence of these symptoms. In other words, BPH is a rarely life threatening disease and the objective of management in most cases is to relieve symptoms in order to improve quality of life for the individual patient. Therefore, measurement of quality of life in BPH is a quite reasonable approach for a proper treatment policy. A specific Turkish questionnaire for quality of life in BPH has been developed and validated.
