Bladder overactivity is a frequent condition which can be seen in association with benign prostatic enlargement. Storage symptoms of benign prostatic enlargement and symptoms of detrusor overactivity are the same. After surgical treatment of benign prostatic obstruction these symptoms may disappear, may regress or de novo symptoms may start in patients who don't have detrusor overactivity preoperatively. Gold standard treatment modality in these patients suffering from symptoms of detrusor overactivity is the use of antimuscarinic drugs.
