Recently, metabolic syndrome and its components have been accepted as a common and important health problem for the modern communities. This syndrome has effects on urinary system as the many other systems. It has been considered the relationship between metabolic syndrome and the severity and frequency of lower urinary tract irritative and obstructive symptoms. In this paper, the pathophysiological mechanism, the effects of metabolic syndrome on urinary tract and the related parameters were evaluated with the guidance of the literature.
