ABSTRACT

The incidence of early and advanced renal tumor is increasing. The need for accurate staging during diagnosis and follow-up after treatment is increasing as well. Positron emission tomography - computed tomography (PET-CT) may serve as a means to increase the accuracy of staging by combining functional and morphological imaging techniques. In this paper, the advantages and limitations of this method is discussed.
