ABSTRACT

Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy has become a safe and reproducible surgical option in appropriate renal cancer cases. Preoperative preparation and radiological planning is extremely important. The surgeon should have a high level of skill and experience in laparoscopy and intracorporeal suturing technique. Procedure can be held both transperitonealy and retroperitonealy. Robotic and hand assisted techniques have also been developed. Advances in laparoscopic hemostasis and hypothermia techniques can increase future popularity of the procedure. In this review, laparoscopic partial nephrectomy is discussed step-by-step.
