ABSTRACT

Inverted papilloma is a rare benign urothelial neoplasm. Although it has been seen at all ages, most cases are male and at their 6-7. decades. Most frequent localizations of inverted papilloma being usually a solitary tumor, are urinary bladder, and the other sites such as prostatic urethra and upper urinary tract. Patients are genarally presented with hematuria and dysuria. Inverted papillomas are characterized by endophytic epithelial proliferation. Differential diagnosis with urothelial carcinomas can be problematic. The preferred treatment choice is usually transurethral resection. It has been reported that recurrence is rare. It is controversial of whether it is necessary to follow up the patients or not.
