ABSTRACT

In this present review, our aim was to summarize the management of residual masses after primary systemic chemotherapy in advanced seminoma cases. According to the literature and clinical guidelines, RPLND is only indicated in cases with positive PET scan after chemotherapy. Instead of RPLND, close observation, radiation therapy or intensive salvage chemotherapy are other alternative treatment modalities. RPLND has high perioperative and postoperative morbidity and complication rates. RPLND should be performed in specialized centers only.
