ABSTRACT
Testicular microlithiasis is a common finding in scrotal ultrasonography. At first it was thought to be a risk factor for developing testicular malignancy. But now it is known that most men with microlithiasis will not develop testicular cancer. However approximately half of the men with germ cell tumors also have testicular microlithiasis. This fact causes a conflict for management and follow up of these men. This article is a brief summary of the current debate.
