ABSTRACT

Prostate cancer is the most diagnosed type of cancer among the urologic cancers. As the result of the new therapeutic developments, 5-year survival rates are almost 99% among patients with prostate cancer. Declining of the death rates cause the increase in the patient living with cancer. Literature findings show that quality of life of the spouses of the cancer patients' is at risk as much as of the patients'. Spouses of the prostat cancer patients' struggle with the advers events of the cancer therapy. As the changes in the quality of life the spouses who are responsible for the first level care of the cancer patients affects the care negatively, recognition of the potential threats and taking care of some prevention measures are important.
